Mallikarjun Kharge, a hole in the bucket

By BD Naraayannkar

An old video of senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has gone viral where he warns the country about Sanatan Dharma ruling the nation.

In the video posted by BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra, Kharge is first seen criticising Narendra Modi’s work during his tenure as the prime minister and then warning the countrymen about Sanatan Dharma ruling the nation.

So, then should India be ruled by Bagdadi or Chengiz Khan? And this leader is on the verge of assuming the post of the All India Congress Committee's president after October 19, and after that what would the Congress party do with him?

Kharge could be acceptable in Nagaland and Mizoram, because the sentiments there are different. He could even be acceptable either in Kerala or Kashmir. Other than these states, where will he be acceptable?

Doesn't the Congress take cognisance of all these issues before anointing someone for the top post?

As many as 20-odd people I met, they told me that Kharge is a very controversial leader. I asked why? They said, "No, he is anti-Sanatana Dharma." I murmured, "Lo, gayi bhains paani mein (it's a lost case)."

Can anyone dare to contest elections by opposing Sanatana Dharma in India? At least the Hindus are not so dumb to vote an anti-Hindu party to power, at a time when radical Islamist outfits like PFI are envisioning the rule of Khilafat by 2047.

Jawaharlal Nehru might have spoken something controversial about Hindus and Hinduism, but he had some sense in not rubbing the wrong side of majority Hindus. He used to dip himself in rivers during Kumbh melas, and do yoga and display photos in public. Indira Gandhi of course was ultimate. She adorned herself with rudraksh and had good relations with well-known heads of Hindu mutts across the country.

Compare it with the present Congress party. It wants to anoint a leader like Kharge. Should India have a Palestinian-type government?

This is India, brothers! As long as leaders like Kharge are active, Congress will not gain even if Rahul Gandhi takes up hundreds of yatras.

This is a case of a party that keeps pouring water in a bucket with holes which does not fill. One such hole in the bucket is Kharge.
