Why China Is Rattled Over Abrogation Of Article 370?

Putting pressure on India, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, in his address at the UN General Assembly on September 27, had said Jammu and Kashmir issue should be peacefully and properly addressed in accordance with the UN Charter, UN Security Council resolutions and bilateral agreement.

He had also asked India not to take any action that would unilaterally change Kashmir's "status quo."

In reply, India took a strong exception to these statements and asserted that the region is an integral part of India and all nations should respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In October, India had withdrawn the special status of Jammu and Kashmir by abrogating Article 370 and bifurcated the state into Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, which will come into being on October 31.

One can understand Pakistan's pain, but why China is rattled?

Before seeking an answer to it, it is necessary to delve into the past.

Until 1947, the present Pakistan Occupied Kashmir was part of Indian territory, but became part of Pakistan after the Indo-Pak war same year.

China, a friend of Pakistan for geopolitical reasons, had started China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project passing through PoK after it realised that its entire flow of goods from China could come to a halt at Malacca strait in case of a conflict with USA or India and its allies, who have a strong presence there.

Therefore, it invested more than $60 billion in CPEC project, under which it built port, roads, power plants in Pakistan to create an alternate trade route from Gwadar port on Arabian Sea to Kashghar in China’s Muslim-dominated Xinjiang province through PoK.

With the abrogation of Article 370, Pakistan resorted to an aggressive campaign for restoration of pre-August 5 status of Jammu and Kashmir, which translated into an acknowledgement by Pakistan that the region legally belongs to India. This, in turn, means that the focus of Kashmir dispute has shifted on PoK that includes Gilgit and Baltistan.

The CPEC project passes through PoK, which is Indian territory. So, India would oppose China for interfering into its internal affairs.

CPEC, in fact, is not about development, but it is a debt-trap diplomacy of the Chinese government, which aims at broadening its geopolitical and economic clout by miring developing countries with unsustainable debt while increasing their dependency on it.

Until China changes its autocratic ways of disrespecting existing frontiers and territorial sovereignty, India will have little choice but to take all necessary steps to protect itself. So, abrogation of Article 370 is good thing to happen for India.

Time For Sharad Pawar To Pay For His Wrongdoings

Watch from 8 minutes

Close on the heels of P Chidambaram and DK Shivakumar's arrest, the Enforcement Directorate has indicted former chief minister Sharad Pawar, his nephew Ajit Pawar and 70 other officials in Rs 25,000 crore Maharashtra State Co-operative Bank scam.

Allegations are that Ajit Pawar and elected representatives of various political parties, in the capacity of bank directors, had sanctioned loans, between 2001 and 2011, in a fraudulent manner for personal benefit of associates of bank officials.

They sanctioned loans to the office bearers and directors of local co-operative sugar factories (CSFs), spinning mills and other processing units, despite their weak financials and negative net worth.

After CSFs turned sick due to alleged mismanagement, they were sold to the board, which in turn, bought these for less than the reserve price, resulting in wrongful gains for the purchaser.

The wrongful purchasers had personal or political nexus with the board of directors including Ajit Pawar.

Sharad Pawar is alleged to have been the tutor of this scam, according to the main complainant Surinder Arora, who is a Mumbai-based activist.

However, the National Congress Party accused BJP of vendetta politics over the issue and alleged it was diverting attention from the failures of present Maharashtra government ahead of assembly elections.

These allegations have not cut much ice because people are not fools. They very well know it was on the behest of the Bombay High Court that the ED had to initiate action against Pawar and others.

They are aware of the long list of corruption charges against Pawar in the past, and also are well informed about his close ties with underworld dons, including Dawood Ibrahim, who was the main accused in 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts.

People also are aware of his complicity in shielding Dawood from arrests and allowing him to flee the country. They remember the 2015 interview by former Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar, who said the then Pawar government had shelved the plan to take Dawood into custody, though he had offered to surrender.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had alleged that there was a definite nexus between Dawood's associates and Pawar. It also alleged that the Maratha strong man had received Rs 72 crore from a hawala racketeer and Dawood's close aide Mool Chand Shah alias Choksi, between December 1979 and October 1992.

MHA had also stated that Pawar had received Rs 7 crore from Choksi between December 1979 and February 1980.

The ministry also had revealed that Pawar had received another installment of Rs five crore from Choksi around May 1991.

Some of these monies were paid for election purposes, but was also used by Pawar to siphon money abroad.

MHA also had alleged, Choksi was in constant touch with Pawar till few months before the Bombay blasts. An alleged major transaction of Rs 10 crore, channeled through the middle-east, was received by his nephew in October 1992.

Choksi was arrested under TADA on May 4, 1993, for funding Tiger Memon with Rs 2.5 crore for the blasts.

In March 1989, a detention order was issued against him, but was revoked at the behest of then Home Minister and close confidant of Arun Mehta, after receiving Rs 2 crore from the racketeer.

No politician has drawn the kind of flak Sharad Pawar has. Consider these - his involvement in the wheat, Lavasa, Telgi and sugar scams, besides Nira Radia allegations, are enough for any right-thinking citizen to be angered over the spell of devastation wrought by Pawar on the Indian economy over the years, and see him rot in the jail, at least in the latest bank scam.

This is yet another opportunity for the Lutyens media to take this matter up to cleanse their muck, which had dirtied this noble profession and also the image of the country.

Muslim Repression In China: Pro-Pakistani, Indian Liberal Media's Double Standards Exposed

Bandhugan, recall these years - 1942 and 1962.

Do you remember what happened?

These are the years when the Communists in India had betrayed India and acted in favor of the communist Chinese and Russian governments.

In 1942, the Indian communists voiced against Quit India movement at the behest of Soviet Union, because it was an ally of Britain, which was a member of the Axis power, fighting the Nazis under Adolf Hitler during second world war.

In 1962, a section of communists including EMS Namboodiripad chose to back China in 1962 war and portrayed India as the aggressor. They had gone to the extent of jailing VS Achutananda for suggesting blood donation to Indian soldiers as an anti-party activity.

These were not the occasions when the communist movement found itself isolated from the national mainstream, but there are many others including the recent standoff between India and China on the Doklam plateau. The communists are blaming India for deteriorating relations with China because of its growing strategic ties with America.

More than the explicit support by communist parties of India to China and Russia, the patronage given to left wing extremism in all spheres of activity and governance is far dangerous.

The patronizing process started in 1950s. The Nehru government was stacked with communists or their sympathizers. Krishna Menon was the most powerful one, who was also worked as the defence minister. The MI15 files showed that he was in touch with Communist Party in UK, a decade before 1947.

Of late, concomitant to JNU and Jadavpur universities are a section of Indian media, especially news channels, that are sunk into the leftist cynicism and sterile pseudo intellectualism.

These channels or media houses, either remain silent or go gung-ho over any issue, which go either against or in favor of their masters, who mostly are left-oriented or liberals, who always spout venom against India - be it on abrogation of article 370 and other endless issues.

Take for example, the dead silence of the communists and liberal (read left) media over China's involvement in crimes against humanity, which has been proved beyond reasonable doubt.

China has been accused in the UNHRC of widespread harvesting of human organs from living people of the persecuted minority groups in the dragon country.

The victims of organ transplant crimes in China were people belonging to religious and ethnic minorities of Falun Gong and Uighurs.

The Uighurs are minority Turkish-Muslim group in China's western region of Xinjiang and Falun Gongs are peaceful Buddhist spiritual practitioners, who  belong to the School of tradition that involves meditation.

Falun Gong was outlawed by the Communist Party of China and many were detained, tortured and killed for extraction of their organs.

China also killed House Church Christians and Tibetans for their organs.

In the backdrop of pin drop silence maintained by liberal media over this horrific campaign of repression against Muslims and Muslims, more than 30 countries led by US have condemned the Chinese crime.

America President Donald Trump also has expressed to the UN General Assembly the need to honour the eternal right of people to live by their faith and conscience.

The silence of the liberal media nexus of Imran Khan-led Pakistan and pro-Pakistanis living in India, brings out in the open their double standards.

This brigade led by Pakistan takes up the cause for Islam and Muslims whenever Muslim grievances are raised in any part of the world. From conflict between Israel and Palestine to abrogation of article 370, Pakistan has been vehement in denouncing real and imagined injustices meted out to Muslims world over.

However, it willfully turns a blind eye to Chinese tyranny.

In an interview to Financial Times, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan replied to queries relating to Pakistan, however, he dodged speaking about Chinese atrocities against Uighur Muslims by saying he has not heard anything like it.

Imran chose not to mince words against Chinese treatment of Uighurs as Pakistan fears that condemning China on the issue will alienate China as it has been economically and politically supporting Pakistan.

Right-thinking people should understand that these liberal media and Pakistani lovers' silence on this issue, as they have been funded by the international left brigade and Wahabis based in Suadi Arabia. They should raise this issue on all public platforms whenever required.

What Is The Secret Behind Sonia-Chidambaram Meeting In Tihar?

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi met P Chidambaram in Tihar Jail on September 23. They were accompanied by Karti Chidambaram, son of the imprisoned leader.

The meeting lasted for about half an hour.

Chidambaram has been imprisoned since September 5 for his involvement in INX media scam.

Now, let us come to the issue.

Why on earth Manmohan and Sonia visited Tihar Jail to meet Chidambaram when they did not even once meet R Raja and Kanimozhi, when they were imprisoned in 2G scam?

Are they fearful of Chidambaram revealing any secret pertaining to any wrongdoing? In fact, BJP leader and Maharashtra Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar on September 23 had spoken on the same lines.

The world knows, Chidambaram is the guard of Gandhi family's box of secrets. All their unlawful activities including, money laundering and political witch-hunting, have been done through him.

The closeness of Chidambaram to Gandhi family during UPA I and II regimes has been brought out very well in a book, The Accidental Prime Minister, written by veteran journalist Sanjay Baru in 2014.

The book mentions Manmohan's keenness to hold the finance portfolio along with the prime minister's, but Sonia gave it to Chidambaram as a reward  for remaining loyal to her from 2004 to 2014. From 2004 to 2008 and from 2012 to 2014, he was the finance minister under both UPA regimes. Also, he was the home minister from 2008 to 2012.

During his tenure as the home minister, he indulged himself into political witch-hunting of Gujarat Chief Minister and Home Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah at the behest of Sonia. Ever since, Shah and Sonia do not see eye to eye. In fact, she wanted to kill Shah and Modi in the jail, if Baba Ramadev has to be believed.

The book also makes a sad commentary of Manmohan's UPA-1 tenure when he presided over a corrupt cabinet. He could not stop telecom, coal, chopper, Tatra truck and many other scams and was accused of helping a corporate house win a coal block illegally.

Recently, Manmohan's name also was linked to the administrative and financial irregularities of Nalanda University during his prime ministerial tenure. His daughters were appointed to the university, but stayed in US while drawing salary.

Such being the besmirched legacy of Manmohan, the former prime minister made an unconvincing statement regarding INX Media scam after meeting Chidambaram in the jail. He said the FIPB clearance was collective decision and if the minister is liable for approving a recommendation, then the whole system of government will collapse.

The import of this statement is absolutely clear - The Congress is entirely blaming bureaucrats for the corruption, but without mincing words accepting the economic offence committed by Chidambaram and his staff.

This is in contrast to the 2G scam when Sonia and Manmohan did not blame any of the bureaucrats then for any corruption in this regard.

Why are these leaders blaming the bureaucrats now? Why are they defending Chidambaram who has been accused for his blatantly illegal abuse of political power?

Could it be that Chidambaram might open his mouth which might put the Gandhi family and other big Congress leaders in the dock?

Isn't Chidambaram capable of threatening Sonia, especially when we all know the 2011 bugging incident in Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee's office in the North Block, when he was the Home Minister?

These are the questions the national channels should be raising, but they are busy with attacking Narendra Modi on economic slowdown, lynching, cow slaughter, Kashmir issue, Balakot and various other issues.

In contrast, there is hardly any debate on Chidamabram-Sonia meeting in Tihar Jail. This could be because of Queen Bee's money playing its part in these media houses. It is, therefore, very important for all right-thinking people to raise this issue from all platforms - online or offline

'Howdy, Modi' Changes US Perception Of Indians Being Hypocritical Bastards

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot yesterday had flayed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for tearing apart India's foreign policy of non-alignment founded by Jawaharlal Nehru and carried forward by Indira Gandhi.

But who cares? What did non-aligned policy gave to India? Nothing but, insult and betrayal at the hands of the member nations. The friendly nations praised India as a leader against colonialism and racism, but almost all of them did not support India during its conflicts with Pakistan and China.

He  also criticized Modi for interfering in US politics by campaigning for President Donald Trump during the event, forgetting the failed intervention of Nehru in Chinese affairs.

Nehru's interference in Tibet provoked China to wage a war against India in 1962,  despite his successful attempts to acknowledge Chinese rule in Tibet and get the hostile neighbor a permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council.

Nehru's intervention in Hungary revolution  also disappointed Russia in 1956 as the first Indian Prime Minister had acted against Nikita Krushchev's interests by supporting Hungarian rebels, who were demanding a more democratic political system and freedom from Soviet oppression. This had a bearing in 1962 war as  Khrushchev refused to dissuade China by giving lame excuse of its high-stakes gamble in Cuba.

Likewise, Indira Gandhi had provoked US President Richard Nixon and his national security adviser Henry Kissinger calling her and Indian people names when she made efforts to rouse international opinion and US conscience over the bloodletting in 1971 Bangladesh war, even though she had hypocritical slant towards Russia.

These were the insults and ignominies faced by Indians and its leaders because of unclear foreign policies.

In contrast, Modi's sweeping statements at the event was a demonstration of India's clear-cut foreign policies, which were in consonance with President Donald Trump's United States. He played the tunes of Trump hovering over the issues of border security and Radical Islamic Terror.

While Modi made reference to Pakistan being the hub of 9/11 and 26/11 terror attacks, Trump assured Indian Americans of protecting them from terror attacks and expanding defense cooperation with India. These references surely would force Beijing and Islamabad to analyse Washington's tough stance on China and India's success in resisting Pakistan's attempts to internationalize Kashmir.

As far as the Congress rant against Modi's interference in US election matters are concerned, it must be ignored in changing times, especially after Benjamin Netanyahu and Vladimir Putin had blurred the old convention of keeping international politics and domestic partisanship, separate.

Moreover, Anand Sharma should understand the attendance of representatives of Democratic and Republican parties underscored the bipartisan nature of US relationship with India.

All said and done, the event was a testimony of New India's power in the eyes of the US under Modi's leadership, unlike the ignominy it faced during the Congress era, when global leaders like Nixon called Indira a bitch and Kissinger felt Indians were sanctimonious and hypocritical bastards.

Unprecedented Modi Push For Trump At Houston

The election fever has gripped in some parts of India.

The Election Commission yesterday announced the dates for Haryana and Maharashtra state polls.

Both the states will vote in single phase on October 21 and the result will be announced on October 24.

The term of Maharashtra and Haryana assemblies end on November 9 and November 2, respectively.

Election fever also has gripped the United States of America, though it is scheduled next year. The candidates have begun lobbying for the polls.

So, why Donald Trump is courting at "Howdy, Modi" event? What is Trump's objective to share stage with Modi at the event, which will be participated by more than 50,000 people?

The answer is very simple - Trump wants to use the popularity of Modi among 2.23 million strong Indian Americans, who lean more towards the Democratic Party, than the Republican Party, which the current US President belongs to.

The Indian Americans perceive Democratic Party more friendly toward immigrants, civil rights and non-Western cultures. According to 2016 National Asian American Survey, fewer than seven per cent of Indian Americans in all likelihood had voted for Trump in the presidential election.

The Indian diaspora in the US also have been witness to the ugly episode of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh in 1985. The Indian guru was arrested by Republican President Ronald Reagan for violating immigration laws.

Ever since he left US, Osho had been keeping ill and often claimed Reagan and his government officials had poisoned him while he was in jail.

By sharing the stage with Modi at "Howdy, Modi", Trump would like to woo the Indian Americans towards the Republican Party. If he succeeds, he is sure to the return to power for the second term because Indian diaspora is the fourth largest in US.

He, however, has been fairly successful in the previous election, after some Hindu outfits found their voice resonating with Trump's views on combating Islamic terrorism.

Hillary Clinton, the Democrat Presidential nominee, was ignored by this small diaspora, for she refused to notice the threat of radical Islam as she was funded by Islamic States including Saudi Arabia.

She also did not have any tacit stand on the discrimination and genocide faced by Hindus and non-Muslims in Pakistan and Bangladesh. But above all, she had been an enemy of India's biggest leader Narendra Modi.

Hillary had attempted to frame Modi for post-Godhra riots, though any reasonable person could see that these riots were provoked by a gang of Muslims who set fire to a train filled with dozens Hindu devotees who were returning from Ayodhya.

Hillary herself, as secretary of state, had initiated the "Get Modi Plan", an attempt to find any evidence she could to bring Modi to trial, in spite of every Indian agency had cleared Modi of any crimes.

This showed Hillary's obvious bias against Modi.

Apart from capitalizing on this front, Trump wants Modi on his side to keep at bay China's plans to set up more points of control around the Arabian Sea as it had done in South China Sea.

Also, he needs a trade win for his 2020 re-election campaign and for this to happen, the US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer is keen to, at least partially, restore India’s benefits under the Generalised System of Preferences, if India removes specific barriers.

As far as the visual of Modi sharing stage with Trump is concerned, it will help the Indian Prime Minister to dust off some of the international criticism over his move on abrogating Article 370 pertaining to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The event is expected to further boost the business relations between India and US. India is Houston's fourth-largest trading partner and its growing energy demand is expected to increase sale of American oil and gas.

It will also give India an opportunity to cut the trade deficit with US, which is a major issue for Trump.

Recession - A Lutyens Media's Ghost

The Narendra Modi government yesterday made big ticket announcements which are sure to revive market sentiments and economic spirits.

Among the biggest announcements made was - reduction in corporate tax rates to 22 per cent without exemption, which will help government get greater revenue and firms make more money for future investments.

Another big announcement was - the 15 per cent tax rate for new manufacturing firms. This is a very good step, especially when firms are looking for an alternative to China.

These announcements boosted the stock market sentiments. The indices posted the biggest one-day gain in 10 years.

The market analysts have dubbed this move as a surgical strike on negative sentiments in the economy.

The Lutyens media had gone too far by saying that the Indian economy was teetering on the precipice of collapse  by focusing on nebulous indicators such as the stock market.

Probably, they assume that economic illiteracy is pervasive among Indians, who are likely to believe pretty much any economic news as a pretext for predicting that the country is heading for a crash.

They are wrong about Indians, who see through the strong fundamentals of their economy at kitchen tables and across their own families and neighborhoods.

This brigade has such disdain for Prime Minister Naranedra Modi that they are actually cheering against the Indian economy.

Why are they indulging in economic fear-mongering?

The answer is simple. They want to please their industry masters who had suffered because of 'suit boot ki sarkar' narrative which was kicked up by them to please their political masters led by an empty-headed prince.

This narrative forced Modi government to take stringent action against the industry captains for business malpractices and looting country's resources and assets including coal and spectrum.

All said and done, what I want to underline here is this - crony capitalism has made its way in almost all media houses.

The government cannot take action against these media houses in a democratic setup, but it is for the people to stop these lie-peddlers by constantly exposing their fear-mongering strategy.

Tail piece: If Indian economy is on the verge of collapse, will any government in the world think of losing Rs 1.45 lakh crore by slashing corporate tax?

The answer is a big no. The Lutyens media had economic fear-mongering blown out of proportion.

FCRA - Biggest Birthday Gift To PM Modi From His Friend-Home Minister Amit Shah

WE are happy to note that PM Narendra Modi's birthday coincides with Bhagwan Vishvakarma, who is considered to be the divine architect of universe before the advent of time.

He was showered with many gifts on this occasion, but the most important gift was given by Home Minister and his close aide Amit Shah.

What is that gift? And, there has been no debate on it in any media. Think over it.

Two days ago, a notification was issued by the home ministry. It has made big changes in FCRA to tame foreign-funded NGOs involved in anti-India activities and forced conversion.

So, what are the changes made in Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Rules Act 2011?

According to the changed rules, before receiving any foreign funds, all employees of such NGOs will now have to give a declaration to the government affirming that they have not been prosecuted or convicted for religious conversions and have not indulged in creating "communal tension and disharmony".

According to the earlier rule, only directors or top official seeking FCRA clearance were required to make the declaration. But, forced conversion activities were carried out by office-bearers below the rank of directors or top officials.

Now, every member of the NGO must also, under oath through an affidavit, certify that they have never been involved in "diverting" foreign funds or propagating "sedition" or "advocating violent means".

Earlier, this too was required only of the director or the official applying for FCRA clearance.

Under the amended rules, in case of any medical emergency during a visit abroad, the government has to be informed about foreign hospitality to the NGO member within a month. The intimation by the member should contain full details including the source.

It should also state the approximate value in Indian Rupees and the purpose for which and the manner in which it was utilised. Earlier, the deadline for the intimation was two months.

The threshold for the value of gifts that need to be reported to the government was increased from Rs 25,000 (as per the market value of the gift in India) to Rs one lakh.

If any violations are found, strict action will be taken against such NGOs.

In fact, Modi government 1.0 took away permission to receive foreign contribution from nearly 18,000 NGOs including Infosys and Essar Foundations for allegedly violating FCRA rules.

Now, why I am saying that Amit Shah has given the biggest gift to Modi is, because many NGOs got money from very big global foundations to finish off Modi's political career, when he was the chief minister of Gujarat.

One must be very much aware of Teesta Setalvad who is running a trust called Citizens for Justice and Peace and paid agent of ISI Ghulam Nabi Fai.

Teesta is known for anti-Narendra Modi stance and is facing many court cases, including embezzlement of trust funds and receiving a hefty amount from various foundations to bring insult on Modi and Gujarat in post-Godhra riots case.

In one such endeavor, Teesta and Shahrukh Alam's NGOs had organised the then Supreme Court judge Aftab Alam's visit to London to deliver a lecture on Promoting Pluralism Knowledge Programme, which was part of some NGOs working for 2002 riots victims in Gujarat.

Shahrukh Alam is daughter of Justice Aftab Alam, who was hearing a matter relating to alleged "fabricating of evidence in a post-Godhra riots case.

The tone and tenor of the lecture delivered on October 14, 2009, depicted his strong belief as regards to victimisation of the minority community and made reference to his daughter PPKP’s India initiative.

Sensing a reasonable likelihood of bias in hearing the matter, former aide of Teesta, Rais Khan Pathan, had moved the Supreme Court seeking recusal of Justice Aftab Alam from the bench hearing the matter.

Pathan was accused of fabricating evidences along with Teesta in Naroda Gam case in which 11 people were killed in 2002.

It should also be noted here is a letter written by former Judge of Gujarat High Court and former Gujarat Lokayukta Justice S M Soni to then Chief of India SH Kapadia, in July 2012.

Soni had requested to keep 'communal mindset' Justice Alam away from Gujarat cases and transfer all matter related to Gujarat before any other bench.

Soni had also requested to stay further hearing of all criminal cases in which Gujarat government is a party and are being heard by Justice Alam.

It is also alleged that Teesta always wanted Justice Alam to hear the cases.

At one point of time, when she realised that Justice Alam would not be hearing the case due to roaster system, she raked up the sub-judice cases with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, which showed her confidence more in that organisation than the Indian court.

The Supreme Court, in January 2011, rapped Teesta's action by saying, "We don’t appreciate a letter being sent to a foreign country. We can’t approve of it. This shows that you have more confidence in that organisation than us."

The court also had said, "Tomorrow the proceedings of this court will be reported to that organisation. What police commissioner does or joint police commissioner does will also be reported to the international body. We are capable of doing our work. We don’t want to be guided. If you have any grievance, you can come to us. We are here."

Teesta, her husband Javed Anand and the two NGOs' bank accounts were frozen by Ahmedabad police in 2014, soon after it began investigating an alleged embezzlement case wherein she was said to have collected Rs 1.51 crore from national and international donors promising to convert Gulbarg society to 2002 riots museum, but later used the money for personal use.

The Modi government 1.0 also froze the bank account of the firm located in Mumbai, as the Home Ministry claimed that the firm was not authorised to receive funds from abroad as it was not registered under FCRA.

Fai, on the other hand, was arrested by FBI from his house in Fairfax in Virginia, on charges of receiving hundreds and thousands of dollars from ISI and using them for lobbying at the Capitol Hill and holding seminars and conferences.

In one of the conferences, Indian intellectuals and journalists including Harinder Baweja, Ved Bhasin and Gautam Navlakha, attended it.

The conference passed a resolution "unanimously" expressing grave concern over the "deteriorating” human rights situation in Kashmir and urged India to withdraw its armed forces from civilian populated areas and sought an impartial commission to investigate "killings" in a transparent manner.

So, if the present amended FCRA norms were in vogue at that point of time, participation of Justice Alam and Indian intellectuals in anti-India events abroad would have invited strict action against them for their anti-India activities and fomenting disharmony in the country by their hate speeches against India and its institutions.

And also, would have prevented huge fundings from big foundations and misuse of the same as was done by Teesta and others.

Truly, it is the best gift Shah gave to Modi on his 69th birthday.
